Raptalk's Dub MD recently had the priviledge of hooking up with one of Brooklyn's finest lyrical MC's "Killah Priest" for a cool little Q & A session. Dub MD covers a lot of the East Coast & Mid-West acts for us so anybody in those regions feel free to holla at our boy. You know Styles has got the West Coast on lock and is moving on to the South too! So watch out as Raptalk brings it to you nationwide! Without further delay we bring you Killah Priest! RT: Killah Priest, what's good? KP: Chillin', couldn't feel better RT: Give the people a little bit of background on yourself? KP: Started off with the Clan founder of Sunz Of Man, that was my group. I brought to the RZA 5 solo albums and 2 group albums. RT: How did you come up with the name Killah Priest? KP: Well I really didn't. 60 seconds and the RZA did! RT: Coming from New York, what do you think of the New York music scene right now? KP: Really really bad right now in terms of creativty. There is none. I'm just bored with rappers these days. Word! RT: You're one of the most underrated emcees out, why do you think it is your sales don't match your skill level? KP: Bad choices about who puts out my music in the past. Besides from Geffen they did the best work but still nothing beats doing it yourself. Total control of your career. RT: What do you think of the commercialization of hip hop, do you think its showing respect to its pioneers? KP: It could in some ways if they're going to make good music but they haven't. I think it's an insult to the greats. RT: Do you have a new album dropping? Whats it called and what can your fans expect? KP: Yes finally I will release my album "The Offering" in 07. I'm looking at a May date but we might push it up. My fans can expect a great Killah Priest album. I'm not going to give it all to you in words. RT: With this new project coming around, what artists and producers are you working with? KP: Let's see Nas, Immortal Technique & The 4 Horsemen....I'm not going to give it all away yet! RT: Whats your label situation like just now? KP: Got them finally. It's an Indie so I have all control. Lets say I'm not going to say yet but we good. RT: Alot of fans thought the track you and Chino XL done for his Poison Pen album was a classic track, will we see you & Chino working again? KP: Of course X is a beast, I would always do a joint with dudes I resepct lyrically. RT: Back to the new project when is it due to be released? KP: Suppose to be in March but also looking at May if things work out but it will def come out this year!!!! RT: If you were to describe you as an emcee in 4 words what would they be? KP: Threat To The World RT: Do you have anything to say to the fans? Anything you wanna get off your chest? Any shout outs? KP: Yes the album "The Offering" will be out this year. Get ready to throw all your ear garbage out. I'm a threat this year. www.killahpriest.com has forums that I attend so catch me on there. Also new stuff at the store there also. 1 Luv Priest
